Why should churches get involved?

Given the pressures on church resources, this is a valid question.  The answer is that chaplaincy offers an opportunity for churches and individuals to minister in a key area of our communities and to build relationships with large numbers of people efficiently.

In particular, schools and colleges are:
  • good places to be with young people and adults and to serve them
  • places where young people make critical life decisions
  • places where the right kind of Christian input is appreciated
  • places where support from the communities they serve is needed, including from churches.
Chaplaincy also offers the opportunity for individual churches to liaise and work with other churches/denominations in partnership.
